Since
the early 1990's more than 10,500 lofts, apartments and condominiums have been
constructed within a mile of Main and Akard streets, the heart of downtown Dallas.
Based on continued demand and a strong local economy, construction of an additional
2,000 units is underway or has been announced. Although most of the 10,500 units
are in new buildings, the most spectacular spaces are not on the fringes, but
in the heart of Downtown in salvaged warehouses and factories. With their tall
ceilings and dramatic views, these converted lofts epitomize New Urbanism. Downtown
residents represent all constituencies -- singles, young professionals, young
marrieds, middle-age professionals and empty nesters -- anyone who wants to be
close to museums, theater and sidewalk cafes.

Dallas Independent School District
The D.I.S.D. is affiliated with the Satellite
Education Resources Consortium (SERC), which provides instruction for students
and staff via satellite. Positive Parents of Dallas links the business community
and parents in an effort to promote positive achievement of staff and students
in the D.I.S.D.
